Students:
MU-Rolla, now the Missouri
University of Science and Technology, will hold the Mo Academy
for Youth Advancement (MAYA) program for students interested
in a highly accelerated curriculum in math, science,
engineering, or technology. During this four-week
program, students cover the same amount of material as one
year of high school and receive high school credit.

Juniors:
MU-Columbia will hold a High School
Mini Medical School for students interested in careers in
medicine. More info and application is online at:

Kid’s Chance of
Missouri provides scholarships for students whose parent(s)
have been seriously injured or killed while working. The
student must show dependency on worker’s compensation to be
eligible for this $1,500 - $2,500 scholarship. “Received
by” deadline for the fall 2008 semester: April 30; spring 2009

provided extensive information on scholarships, grants and
loans to dependents of veterans. The “Need ALift?” booklet,
which contains all of the information, is available for use in
the Guidance Office or online at www.needalift.org. Information
contained in the booklet is broken down in sections by state
and branches of military service. “Need A Lift?” also
references an electronic scholarship search service which
provides access to additional scholarships, grants and loans
based upon the student’s major, college selected, interests
and/or hobbies. This service is free at: www.srnexpress.com.
