School Information

 

Strafford R-VI Schools has been rated as “Accredited With Distinction” by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education since 1999. This is the highest level of accreditation that the department awards to public schools in Missouri.

 

The District currently has 1192 students enrolled. The elementary school currently has 473 students, the middle school has 379 students, and the high school has 340 students. The newest addition to the District, the early childhood center, besides accommodating the kindergarten has 83 students in the PACE and daycare programs.

 

The Strafford R-VI School District includes a daycare, and early childhood PACE program, and an alternative school for middle school and high school students.

Strafford, MO, population 1,845 , is located in Missouri's Greene county, about 10.6 miles east of Springfield on Interstate 44 and 149.5 miles southeast of Kansas City.

From 1990 to 2000 Strafford's population grew by about 58%. It is estimated that in recent years Strafford's population has been growing at an annual rate of slightly more than 1.25%.
