Fourteen middle school students competed at the regional contest for National History Day on February 16. A group of three 7th grade boys earned first place with their website depicting the triumphs and tragedies related to the Atomic Bomb. The students were Jackson Jacobson, Amren King, and Ryker Venosdel (pictured above). Dani Nunn (pictured below), also in 7th grade, placed first with her individual performance which centered around the positive and negative consequences of Route 66 in this area. These four students have advanced to the state level contest to be held later in April. The other groups also did very well with 6th grade placing 5th in group website and 8th grade placing 4th in group performance.
